Resident Playwright
Joshua Fardon (he/him/his)’s plays include 1=0 (Theatre of NOTE, Los Angeles), The Condition (Annoyance Theatre, Chicago; Naked Angels production at The Atwater Village Theatre, Los Angeles), The Burning of Kenneth Carrion (Benchmark Theatre Fever Dream Festival, Chicago workshop), Do Not Disturb (NOTE), Shake (NOTE), This Contract Limits Our Liability – Read It! (NOTE) and Miss Henrietta Stralson (Yale Cabaret). His one-acts and short musicals have been produced in Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, and Fort Lauderdale. His short films Tenant and Shattered Bits were official selections of danceswithfilms. He sold a pilot to Miramax Television.
As a composer, he scored the movie Adopt a Sailor, starring Bebe Neuwirth, the Los Angeles production of Ruth Margraff’s Stadium Devildare, Ken Roht’s The Birds, and his own recently completed A Cult Musical.
As an actor, he has worked onstage at The Public, Classic Stage Company, Williamstown, The Ahmanson, Yale Rep, The Old Globe, South Coast Playhouse, the Mark Taper Forum and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. He portrayed Luke Skywalker in the Lucasfilm/NPR recording of Return of the Jedi, starring Anthony Daniels, Perry King and John Lithgow. Film and TV includes Chicago Fire, Conspiracy Theory, Volcano, The West Wing and Frasier.
A three-time O’Neill semifinalist, a graduate of Northwestern University and the acting department of the Yale School of Drama; a member of the WGA America-East, the Dramatists Guild, SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
He is the Creative Director of the Naked Angels Theatre Company in Chicago and a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists.
He is directing Mosquitoes by Lucy Kirkwood at SUNY Purchase in the autumn of 2025.
