In addition to our Saturday Series of staged readings , we offer other types of readings at all stages of play development. For Resident and Network playwrights, we can schedule private table readings, where the playwright can hear his/her work read—perhaps for the first time—in a safe and supportive environment that includes a two or three trusted invitees and a brief, moderated discussion after the reading. For Network playwrights, we offer the exclusive First Draft Series, and from time to time, we present directed-and-rehearsed showcases of plays in progress... which allows playwrights to see their work nearly on its feet.

PRIVATE TABLE READINGS
(RESIDENT AND NETWORK PLAYWRIGHTS)
Private table readings are available to Resident and Network playwrights only. They are not directed, staged, or rehearsed, but the actors are asked to read the script beforehand, so that they can present the play in its truest light and allow the playwright to see both its potential and its flaws... thereby sending him/her back to the text with valuable feedback.
FIRST DRAFT SERIES
(NETWORK PLAYWRIGHTS ONLY)
For Network playwrights, we offer the exclusive First Draft Series—a series of weekly play readings in the style of a playwrights’ salon, where playwrights themselves read aloud and discuss each others’ work in a relaxed, supportive setting. Each reading is performed by the Network playwrights in attendance and is followed by a discussion moderated by a Resident playwright. All Network playwrights are welcome, free of charge, and are encouraged to attend frequently. Resident playwrights also are welcome, as are one or two invited guests of the playwright whose play is being read.
SHOWCASES
Showcases allow us to fill the gap between staged readings and productions. Some result from our classes, such as Scene Shop; others are opportunities that come our way by partnership with organizations in which our Resident playwrights are involved. But regardless of their geneses, showcases provide evenings of sheer delight as plays break out of their shells and take their first breaths of stage air.
