Resident Playwrights

The Resident Playwright Program is a core program at Chicago Dramatists. Resident Playwrights enjoy two, three-year renewable terms of new-play development opportunities such as tailored writing groups, workshops, and  private and public readings. 

While in residence, Resident Playwrights actively embrace our core values of connectivity and community by supporting their fellow writers; they serve as moderators and dramaturgs for each other and often teach in The Writer's Studio.

Resident Playwright Alumni are playwrights who have completed their residency terms with Chicago Dramatists.
