John Green's play, THE LIQUID MOON, was first produced at Chicago Dramatists. It won the Joseph Jefferson Award and After Dark Award for Best New Work 2001-2202 seasons and was subsequently produced at Virginia's Barter Theater, where it was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. His play, TWILIGHT SERENADE, was published by the Dramatic Publishing Company. John's screenplay version of the play is in development with Top Dog Productions in L.A. TWILIGHT SERENADE was first produced at Chicago's Red Hen Productions, as will his autobiographical musical, GOING UP. His geopolitical farce, THE (W)HOLE THING, was first produced as part of Stage Left Theater's new play festival, Leapfest, and then chosen by them for full production. John Green's musical, LET IT PLAY, was first produced at Chicago's Body Politic Theatre and then moved to the 78th Street Playhouse in Manhattan. I HAVE FOUND HOME (musical) was staged at New York's South Street Seaport. His comedy, HAMBURGER TWINS, was produced by Michael Leavitt at the Body Politic and Briar Street Theatres. It has since been done at the Creede Repertory Theatre in Colorado and in Paris at Theater de La Main D'or. John's comedy, MR. HAPPY, was developed through a series of readings and workshops at Manhattan Punchline Theatre and Chicago Dramatists where it was first produced, as was his play THE DUCHESS. MR. HAPPY was also produced at Shadow Box Cabaret in Columbus, Ohio, as was his comedy, CHOKE CHAIN. MY SONG, a full length play with music premiered at the Circle Theatre in Forest Park. John's play, HIDING, was a finalist in the national Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival One Act Play Contest. He is a resident writer with Chicago Dramatists.
As an actor, John won the Joseph Jefferson Award (OF MICE AND MEN) and was nominated two other times. He has appeared in film, television and on stages across the United States and Europe. He teaches acting at Act One Studios.
