Walt McGough's plays "First Person Singular" and "Baggage" won the 2005 and
2006 University of Virginia DeLauney Playwriting awards, and "Baggage"
placed third in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival's 2006
David Mark Cohen National Playwriting contest. In Chicago, his one-act play
"Fugitive Motel" was selected to be part of the 2007 Bailiwick Directors
Festival and his short play “The Presence” was read in Chicago Dramatists’ Fall 2006 10-Minute Workshop. Walt holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Drama from the University of Virginia, where he co-founded the Lemming Street Players performance ensemble and received the William Demoville
Pettway Prize for extraordinary service to the Department of Drama.
